The History of our Family in Hospitality began in the late 19th century with the Hotel Villa Diodoro, when Taormina, surrounded by the seductive atmosphere of the Belle Époque, was the home of expatriate artists, writers and elegant fin-de-siècle intellectuals.
Then, the Hotel Isabella and the Hotel Lido Caparena, a seaside resort complex with a well-equipped wellness center, were added, as well as the Residence Villa Giulia.
Over the years, the Gais Hotels Group has diversified and integrated its offering. It offers an exclusive Catering Service, also designed for external clients and organizes banquets, wedding receptions and corporate events with renowned style and quality.
With its Divisione Congressi, it is committed to the comprehensive and professional organization of meetings and conferences, both within its own hotels and throughout Italy. Meanwhile, not far from Taormina, on the enchanting slopes of Mount Etna, the Tenute Chiuse del Signore was inaugurated as a successful winery and has launched an excellent of highly prized wines.
In 2024, the De Luca family entrusted its flagship to a major group of Italian investors in the tourism industry, and the historic Diodoro, built by the founder Bambara, along with the Residence Villa Giulia, is no longer part of the Gais Hotels group. What remains is the cherished memory of a wonderful adventure lived trough the waves of time.
Today, Isabella, Sebastiano, Stefania and Sergio De Luca proudly carry on the famly tradition with the Caparena and the Isabella, maintaining the same consolidated professionalism as always
And so the Family's story continues, in the name of authentic Sicilian hospitality with an ancient heart.
