Etna North at Sunset

Departures are scheduled from Piano Provenzana, on the northern slope of Etna, with special state-of-the-art 4×4 off-road vehicles, accompanied by mountain or volcanological guides. The excursion to the summit area begins at an altitude of 1,800 meters (Piano Provenzana) and continues along the panoramic road that, passing ancient craters and recent lava flows, leads to the Volcanological Observatory at Pizzi Deneri, located at an altitude of 3,000 meters.
